These Terms & Conditions describe our rental policies and procedures on providing our services.

Luggages: 

Luggages refers to small luggages that can fit in the vehicle.

Our rates cover:

Unlimited mileage, 24-hour road assistance and breakdown service, road licensing fees, routine vehicle maintenance, and VAT. Additionally, we offer comprehensive insurance cover, including public liability and third party insurance, subject to ‘Standard Excess’ or ‘Excess Waiver’.

Our rates do not cover:

Optional insurances, excess waiver options, fuel for the car, baby seat rentals, satellite navigation systems, out of hours service, vehicle delivery and collection service, special cleaning, other services and extras are not included in our rates.

Car Categories:

Our car categories offer a wide selection of makes and models. The vehicles shown on our website are an indication of the type of car that may be supplied in each category but cannot be guaranteed. If an alternative brand of vehicle is supplied, it will have similar features and specifications to the category booked.

Age Requirements:

We cover drivers aged 22-70 years who hold a valid driving license for at least 2 years. Young drivers aged 18-21 years may be insured at a daily premium charge.

Insurance Excess Options:

Standard Excess:

The renter’s financial responsibility is limited to the excess amount specified in the rental agreement if a valid insurance policy can be enforced. The excess charge is payable in all circumstances of damage, including accidents, theft, attempted theft, fire, hit and run situations, vandalism, or others:
a. Insurance excess (between 22 & 70 years)- €450
b. Insurance excess (between 18 & 21 years)- €800 and extra daily premium charge (subject to rental period).

Excess Waiver:

(not available to drivers aged between 18 & 21 years)
(not available for rentals of less than 3 days)

An option to eliminate the €450 excess on your insurance as mentioned above. This added layer of protection ensures you won’t bear any excess charges should any damage, including accidents, theft, attempted theft, fire, hit and run situations, and vandalism arise. This option is covered at an extra charge of €15 per day.

Note – Wing mirrors, windscreen, undercarriage including tires & rims, upholstery, and any damage attributed to negligence are not covered by the excess waiver.

Contraventions:

The renter is fully responsible for any contraventions, violations, fines, penalties, or charges incurred during the rental period. This includes but is not limited to traffic violations, parking fines, and damages resulting from accidents or negligent driving.

MSG Car Hire reserves the right to notify the renter of any contraventions reported to us by local authorities or relevant agencies during the rental period. The renter will be informed of the nature and amount of such contraventions.

In the event that contraventions occur, MSG Car Hire reserves the right to charge the renter for all associated fines, penalties, or charges. The renter will receive an itemised billing statement outlining the details of the contraventions and the corresponding charges. 

The renter’s responsibility for driver contraventions extends beyond the rental period and charges may be assessed even after the vehicle has been returned to the company.

Additional Driver Insurance:

This insurance option covers a rental car for more than one driver during the rental duration at an extra charge of €3 per day. Additional drivers must present their driving license to be insured.

Fuel Policy:

Our rental rates include an equivalent fuel option. If clients return vehicles with missing fuel equivalent to that given, they will be charged a refuelling service fee plus the refuelling cost at the station price/litre + VAT.

Payment Requirements:

We accept credit/debit card or cash payments prior to the rental start. The credit/debit card holder must be present to sign the rental agreement and present valid photo identification and driving license.

Currency:

All transactions and rental charges are processed in the Euro currency. The exchange rate used will be determined by the credit/debit card company.

Security Deposit/Card Pre-authorisation:

Renters which choose ‘Standard Excess’ must leave a security deposit as a guarantee against any loss, damage, road contraventions, late returns and so on. A €450 deposit will be temporarily held on your card or paid in cash during car collection. This amount will be released upon car return. Pre-authorised amounts will be unblocked automatically by the issuing credit/debit card company. This deposit will be blocked on the renter’s credit/debit card for a period of up to 1 month from end of rental.

Cancellation:

a. A full refund will be provided if a cancellation is made at least 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up time.
b. A 75% refund will be provided if a cancellation is made between at least 24 to 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up time.
c. A 50% refund will be provided if a cancellation is made less than 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up time.

Change of Reservation:

Changes to reservations can be made subject to availability:
a. Changes requested over 48 hours before pick-up are free.
b. Changes requested within 48 hours from time of pickup may incur a change fee.

No-Shows:

If a customer fails to pick up the rental vehicle on the scheduled pick-up date and time without prior notice, the reservation will be considered a “no-show.” No-shows are not eligible for a refund, and the total rental cost will be charged.

Flight Information:

We require flight information for all airport rentals. Failure to provide the correct information may result in a delay in preparing the rental car for the client’s arrival.

Late Pick Ups:

Vehicles will be reserved for a maximum of 2 hours after the booked pick up time. Failure to notify the company of a delay in collection of the vehicle within this time may result in losing the deposit paid and vehicle may be rented to other clients.

Early Returns:

No refunds are provided for early returns of rental vehicles.

Late Returns:

Vehicles returned after the time or place stipulated on the rental agreement will be given a grace period of one hour. After the grace period, a full day’s rental will be charged, and additional fees may apply.

After Hour Rentals:

Rentals commencing outside office hours or on public holidays are subject to an “Out of Hours” charge.

MSG Car Hire office hours as follows:

Monday to Friday 07:30hrs – 19:00hrs
Saturday 07:30hrs – 14:00hrs
